Certification Training

Level 2

Course Description

This course is for believers who are currently an ABC Level 1 certified counselor seeking to achieve Level 2 certification. We have designed the class to provide a virtual learning environment for biblical counselors who want to grow in their theology of care.

The first portion of the class will focus on the counseling and theology exams that are required for ABC Level 2 certification. Our syllabus guides the student through a process of reading, writing, and teaching to complete each section of the exam monthly. We will begin the class discussing and reviewing the ABC counseling exam, then we will work through a section of the theology exam each month. We will also review a case study together, to learn how to practically apply the theological truth you are learning. Since this teaching will be focused on theology, we will open it up beyond certification students and to those who desire to grow in God’s Word for their own sanctification or discipleship.

The second portion of the class will focus on supervision of counseling. During this time students will do live role plays, review observation videos, and do case study reviews alongside an approved ABC Counseling Supervisor. Students will be matched up with a TR Supervisor to work with you in your counseling experience and to intentionally help you grow. During this time, you will also listen in on other cases being reviewed, which multiplies your learning experience.

Students will collaborate, role play, engage in a counseling practicum, and be supervised throughout the training process. Upon completing the course and all ABC requirements, you will achieve your Level 2 Certification.
